Job Description

Strategic Leadership:
• Develop and execute a comprehensive business strategy to achieve revenue and market share objectives, in alignment with global and regional goals.
• Identify market trends, opportunities, and challenges, providing strategic guidance to drive business growth and market penetration.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation of business plans.

Team Management:
• Lead and inspire a diverse team of professionals across sales, marketing, medical affairs, and operations.
• Foster a culture of high performance, collaboration, and accountability.
• Recruit, develop, and retain top talent, ensuring the team is equipped with the necessary skills and resources to meet objectives.

Sales and Marketing:
• Oversee the development and execution of sales and marketing strategies, driving product adoption and market expansion.
• Collaborate closely with the sales and marketing teams to ensure effective product positioning, pricing, and promotional activities.
• Monitor market trends, competitive landscape, and customer feedback to refine strategies and identify growth opportunities.

Market Access and Regulatory Compliance:
• Work closely with the market access team to develop and implement pricing and reimbursement strategies.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, government agencies, and patient advocacy groups.

Financial Management:
• Develop and manage the country budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to achieve financial objectives.
• Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Conduct regular business reviews and provide accurate forecasts to regional and global leadership.

Cross-functional Collaboration:
• Collaborate with regional and global teams to align strategies, share best practices, and leverage synergies across markets.
• Contribute to global business planning, providing insights and recommendations for the development of global commercial strategies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in life sciences, business administration, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• Proven track record of success as a Country Manager or in a senior leadership role within the pharmaceutical industry in Japan.
• Strong experience in oncology and CNS therapeutic areas is highly desirable.
• In-depth knowledge of the Japanese pharmaceutical market, including market dynamics, regulations, and healthcare systems.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic business plans, drive revenue growth, and achieve business objectives.
• Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
• Strong business acumen, financial management skills, and the ability to analyze complex data.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in Japanese and English.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a matrix organization and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong ethical standards and a commitment to compliance and regulatory requirements.
